    Homeowner Installed Fencing

Homeowners are permitted to install fencing in rear yards at their own expense, provided it follows the rules of the RM of Macdonald.

Corner lots and any lots that flank public property are required to have open style fencing, as per Oak Bluff West's Architectural Guidelines. Either Black vinyl coated chain-link or wrought-iron type is permitted with a maximum height of Five (5) feet along the side street.

For any Open or Chain-link fencing installed by either the Developer or the homeowner, artificial visual screening (including any attachments typical to an open fence, especially privacy slats of any kind) or out-buildings (sheds, etc.) may not be placed within Ten (10) feet of any rear or side yard fencing. Side yard fencing is considered to begin past the back edge of a house. Vines, shrubs, trees or other similar natural horticultural elements are permitted and are greatly encouraged.
