Snowmobiling in Oak Bluff
Heading outdoors during the winter can be daunting, especially knowing the number of layers—parkas, snow pants, toques, and mittens—are involved before making your way outside. But as Manitobans, we still find ourselves braving the frigid cold because of the endless amount of activities available to us.

Oak Bluff West is the ideal location with wide lots and open country landscape makes it easy to do all the activities you love– right in your own community or just beyond.

To get you started on your winter to do list (or to add to your existing list), here are some activities in and around the community that is sure to keep you busy all season long.

Fun Within the Community

Take to the ice

Lacing up your skates and heading out on ice for a leisurely skate or a game of hockey is a must during the winter months. Every Friday at The Oak Bluff Recreation Centre, join the public skate from 6:45-7:45pm and on Sundays from 3:00-4:00pm test your skills during the Sticks and Puck hour. You could event team up with your neighbours to transform a portion of the wetlands in your backyard into a rink!

Cruise around just beyond the community

Grab your gear and take your snowmobile out for a ride along the trails in the open fields just beyond the perimeter of Oak Bluff West. Snowmobiling isn’t permitted in the community but trails have been made to safely enjoy this recreational activity with your friends and family. Visit Snoman Inc's website for the snowmobile trail network across Manitoba.

Community Organized Events

If you’re looking to get active and try some organized sports or want to take a class to fulfill a hobby or interest, Oak Bluff and Macdonald Healthy Child has put together a line-up of activities for the Winter 2017 Program & Community Resource Guide, suitable for all ages. You have the option to take a Zumba class, learn how meditate during a guided meditation, or play some pickleball (only a few of the Oak Bluff programs) or Macdonald Healthy Child is offering Kids in the Kitchen, skating and more.
