It’s Friday night and you are looking for something to do with your partner. Living in Oak Bluff West means you have plenty of options available for a fun or romantic night out. Winnipeg’s Kenaston Common is only 10 minutes away with more and more entertainment becoming available every day.

Romance – Dinner and a Movie

Kenaston Blvd is filled with places to eat. Options include burgers, sushi, Indian, Mexican, and many of your bigger franchise sit-down restaurants. You know what your partner likes best, so find a place to eat, make a reservation if needed, then jump in the car and head into the city.

After eating dinner, you’re only five minutes away from Cineplex Odeon’s VIP Theatre where you can have a premium movie experience. The VIP theatres offer seat-side service before the movie starts, with food and alcoholic beverages available. The larger seats give you and your loved one room to stretch out without rubbing shoulders with strangers. You’re going to have a great time!

Adventure – Ready Player One

Outlet Collection Winnipeg has plenty of fun things to do on a Friday. If you want a bit of a quieter evening, grab your partner and head down to the mall. While you can walk around and visit the shops, DoVR’s virtual reality (VR) experience is immensely entertaining.

VR can be a bit daunting for someone who isn’t sure of what to expect, but full immersion into a video game is a fairly fresh experience for most. Many who try VR say they love it and with a range of different programs available, from puzzle-type games, to simulations and shooters, there is bound to be something you’ll both enjoy.

After you take off your VR headsets, stroll over to the food court for something different. The restaurants at Outlet Collection Winnipeg, save for one or two, are not your average food court stores.

Playful – Up in the Air

This could also make for a fun family activity, but make sure you eat afterwards. Sky Zone Trampoline Park, located at 200-400 Fort Whyte Way, is a childhood fantasy come true! Take off your shoes and head out onto the trampolines for dodgeball, foam pits, basketball, general aerobatics, gladiator-style sky jousting, climbing walls, and a parkour area. There is a lot more to do there, so check out their website to see what sort of activities appeal to you.

After exploring Sky Zone, grab a bite from one of the many restaurants in the area, then head down to St. Vital Park, (only a 10 minute drive from Kenaston Commons), to sit down by the duck pond or go for a walk, so park that car and go explore!

Relax – Staying in and Cooking a Special Meal

Looking for something different? Cavalia re-opens to Winnipeg crowds under the big top on Sterling Lyon, this Month. For an incredible experience, top to bottom, this show will blow you away. The horses are well-trained and well-kept, making for an enjoyable experience. Make sure to book tickets soon, as the show is only here until June 17th!

Relaxing – Staying in and Cooking a Special Meal

Bad weather? Long day at work? If your home has a fantastic kitchen, whip up an amazing dinner at home. With the recent addition of Agora Fine Foods (near the Lowe’s), cooking a high-end meal is only a quick trip away. They offer lots of excellent options for Mediterranean meals including full dinners themselves. If you are looking for a different flavour palette, Costco is also nearby, as well as Sobey’s. For foreign ingredients, the Superstore on Bison Drive is just another 5 minutes further from the Kenaston area.
