The 2016 Fall Parade of Homes have begun and will run through until October 2st. This year, Oak Bluff West is featuring six show homes spread on wide-set lots, allowing prospective residents to build a home that matches a country lifestyle.
The larger lot size gives custom builders in the area the chance to get creative and build unique homes when it comes to the layout and features.
“Bungalows are something that people in Oak Bluff West gravitate towards because of the space,” explains Frank Cotroneo, co-owner of Artista Homes. “It gives you the chance to have large garages, big kitchens and eating areas, which is something that attracts people.”
Cotroneo also mentions that with bungalows, you have the opportunity to have your sleeping quarters on separate sides of the homes, with the master suite on one side, and the guest/children bedrooms on the other. This provides an open concept layout with added privacy – an appealing feature for homebuyers.
With no shortage of space, residents are able to escape to the outdoors and take advantage of many activities. In the summer, walk along the maintained limestone paths while taking in the views of the wetlands and native grasses or bike through the neighbourhood where traffic is minimal. “The residents in the area are very relaxed,” says Eric Vogan of Qualico Communities. “People are spending much more time outside, getting to know their neighbours and really taking pride in the community they live in.”
Even though Oak Bluff West is located just beyond city limits, you are only a short 10-minute drive to the cities amenities including a Costco, Home Depot and Sobeys. In the town of Oak Bluff, there is a K-8 school and a daycare – ideal for growing families – and a Recreation Centre where activities happen all year long.
